Who are we?
LIC.
What is it?
Why is it here?
What do we do?
The LIC acronym can be interpreted in many different ways. It got the name because no one could come up with anything better, and the acronym was funny to most of us.
We started the board as a means of communication for a small group of friends. Some worked 2nd shift, lived in the boonies, were involved in other shit, etc. We had a hard time keeping up with eachother, what we're doing on our cars, and what we're doing in our personal lives.
We've all helped eachother with swaps, car work, finding parts from other people we know that are on the "outside," etc.
We are here to keep this core group of friends close. We don't mean to be a bunch of pricks and keep people out. We just want to make sure that the people here are here for a reason. For THE reason. To keep everyone close. We don't want to worry about posting that "I'm having a party at my house" and have a bunch of people show up that we don't know or trust. Everyone knows where just about everyone else lives (stop moving people!!!). Everyone knows where Kenny lives and has partied there or done work on their car in his garage, same with the LIC house (where ludedude, hellsol and Bakeoff live).
If you know anyone here, AND you intend on getting involved in our lives, then you are welcome. Bakeoff was TomO's best man in his wedding. All of his groomsmen were LIC members. If you're not ready for that kind of commitment, you're not ready for LIC.
This is a brotherhood more than a car club of any sort. We just all happen to be car guys (and girl).
If you are new here, head over to the forums and post in the Newbie forum. Now if you're a new member, we're going to be screening you. If we like you, or if you have an in (a friend that will vouch for you), then you're in. If you make a bad impression, you're SOL (that doesn't stand for Stupid Or Lazy).
So, make a new post about yourself and your ride.
Be convincing, cause we might let you in.
